ABOUT

One table, many games

Elrune is an independent virtual tabletop for roleplaying games, played in the browser. It runs six game systems today, BRP, 5E 2014, 5E 2024, Aspects and Fate Points, Forged in the Dark and Into the Wood, each by its own rules, from one account.

  • Each game by its own rules

A system here is its rules written as code: characters are built the way the book builds them, rolls are read the way the book reads them, and where a source leaves a question open we say so instead of guessing.

  • Fair dice

Every roll at a table is made on the server and kept in the campaign’s history, so nobody has to take a die on trust.

  • A table worth sitting at

Boards in 3D with miniatures, light and weather, maps you can explore, and ready adventures to start the same evening. The pictures on this site are drawn by Elrune itself.

  • Paid by the table, not the players

The game master’s plan covers the table; players pay nothing to join. AI help is optional, labelled, and paid from credits bought in advance.

Where Elrune is now

  1. Stage 1Now

    Alpha

Elrune is in early development. Every table is open to play while we build, nothing is charged, and things will change, sometimes from one week to the next.

  2. Stage 2

    Early bird

Paid plans begin for game masters, with the Founding price for those who join early. Players still pay nothing to join a table.

  3. Stage 3

    Open

Elrune opens fully, with the plans on the pricing page. The building carries on.

What stays. Your characters and campaigns are kept from one stage to the next; nothing is deleted because Elrune moves on.

Your say. What you tell us shapes what we build next. Tell us what you think.

Built on open games

The rules we run were released by their designers and publishers under open licences. We credit each of them, keep their notices beside their material and point to their own books on Credits and thanks. Elrune is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
