The story
High on Greywhistle Pass the brothers of Saint Wendrell keep a hospice and a great bronze bell, rung in every storm to guide lost travellers through the snow. For fourteen nights of storm the valley has not heard it, and a salt caravan that went up six days ago has not come down. The salt merchant of Stonecoombe hires the heroes to climb the switchbacks and find her son. The climb is cold, the road is watched, and the hospice is warm and welcoming. Perhaps too welcoming.
A one- or two-session 5E compatible (SRD 5.2.1) adventure for four 2nd-level heroes who reach 3rd level by the end: a mountain waystation, a climb through the cold with a trap on the road, wolves on a ledge above a long drop, a hospice where nothing is quite right, a vault of frozen secrets, a bell tower and a cave of blue ice. Built for weapon mastery and Heroic Inspiration.
